A Study Day on Patellofemoral Pain

The study day will provide an opportunity to learn about contemporary assessment and management approaches for people presenting with patellofemoral pain and:

  • Introduce a biopsychosocial approach to patellofemoral pain
  • Give you an opportunity to share latest research developments
  • Provide opportunities for learning specific skills around exercise prescription
  • Introduce you to strategies for dealing with physical activity and exercise management

SPECIFIC TEACHING OBJECTIVES:

  1. Explore the role of anatomy and biomechanics and debate the associated myths and misconceptions
  2. Understand the importance of a biopsychosocial approach to patellofemoral pain
  3. Develop greater confidence in the assessment and management of patellofemoral pain
  4. Gain understanding of contemporary research and its implications
  5. Further develop skills around exercise prescription/physical activity and exercise management

Suitable for all clinicians working in primary care and physical rehabilitation settings including physiotherapists, and first line practitioners such as General Practice Nurses and GPs.
